Humane Society of West Alabama

Founded in 1971, is a no-kill, all-volunteer, nonprofit organization. We have no administrative costs, so most of our funds are spent on direct aid for the dogs and cats in our care. We receive no money from any governmental agency or national humane organization. We are totally dependent on donations and fund-raisers to continue our work.

Friends of Cats and Dogs Foundation
an all-volunteer organization serving the Birmingham, Alabama area with our programs available to the community. Our mission is to stop pet overpopulation through our Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program and free Spay / Neuter Clinics.

Greater Birmingham Humane Society
Founded in 1883, is the largest and oldest humane society in Alabama. Over the course of our history we have witnessed the changes in our community and yet have never left the original mission of Dr. Phillips "to promote respect for life through education and prevention of cruelty to animals and people."

North Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic
Spay/Neuter Clinics are dedicated to ending the pet overpopulation problem by providing high volume, high quality, targeted, affordable sterilization services of companion animals.

South Alabama Spay and Neuter
We are located in Mobile, AL and are dedicated to decreasing pet overpopulation.  South AL Spay and Neuter Center provides a high quality, low cost option for spay and neuter procedures.

Spay Alabama
Our goal is to end the euthanasia of healthy and treatable dogs and cats in Alabama. The program was set into motion by Lynne Fridley of Maddie’s Fund, and Esther Mechler, Founder of SPAY USA. The program provides a single center, a single phone call that accesses all sorts of useful information regarding the various spay/neuter delivery systems, clinics and programs statewide.

Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter
A non-profit organization funded by the City of Tuscaloosa, the City of Northport, and the Tuscaloosa County Commission. Along with these funds, we also receive donations which are tax-deductible, redemptions and adoption fees. All animals, regardless of their age, are taken in by us. We are proud to be a member of the Humane Society of the United States as well as the American Humane Association, the Alabama Humane Federation, and the Alabama Animal Control Association.
